Emelia Greene is cursed to lose her first love, at least, that’s what the Greene’s believe after generations of dealings with Death. When a hit-and-run case leaves the residents of Bethel—a coastal Oregon town—reeling, she teams up with a guest at her family’s bed and breakfast to solve the murder. But Lucca Sinclair has more at stake than catching his brother’s killer. And to find the answers she seeks, Emelia must confide in the one being she has come to despise—Death himself. Both have to decide, is love worth everything they stand to lose? Because in Bethel, secrets don’t stay buried for long, and one thing is certain: Death can’t be cheated.
